Who Can Adopt Our Chihuahua Puppies
Since we adore our chihuahuas and value them so highly, we have established some rather strict adoption guidelines to protect their offspring and assure us all of their puppies will be loved and pampered in the same manner as they are. Therefore, we do not apologize for the strictness of our guidelines. If you do not agree with them, that just means you are not the right person to purchase from us.
Which brings us to rule one: We reserve the right to refuse to sell our puppies or provide service to anyone - with or without providing a reason - at our own discretion. These are our puppies so it is our right to sell them to whomever we believe will provide them with the very best possible life.
Specifics Regarding The Chihuahua Breed
There are some basic facts regarding chihuahuas that we would like to share with you, so you will better understand our own little darlings and the puppies they produce.
Generally, chihuahuas are a longer lived dog, with most of the chihuahuas that are 5 to 6 pounds full grown living to an average of 18-20 years.
According to the Chihuahua Club of America, AKC and CKC all chihuahuas are considered 'toys', and because of this breeders are not supposed to refer to smaller chihuahuas as 'teacup'.
Now honestly, we believe a dog that weighs only two pounds full grown - and 12 ounces to 1 pound at 12 weeks old - should be called a teacup so people will be aware that these dogs are extremely fragile, less hardy and not longer lived like the average size chihuahuas.
Our Pricing
We also realize that many people desire the very tiny 'teacup' chihuahuas mentioned previously, and while we do not breed for them, we do often get tiny ones who end up being only 1½ - 4 pounds full grown. We charge very high prices for these very small 'teacup' Chihuahuas because:
- They require lots of extra care on our part from tube feeding as runt newborns, to all night intensive care sessions every time they are wormed or vaccinated
- They are very rare, because many breeders lose theirs to low blood sugar, infections from normal flora or modified live virus vaccines since they have weaker immune systems - it takes a lot of intensive care to get them to live and be healthy
- They are in great demand and there is a large shortage because we - like most responsible breeders - try for 4 to 6 pound chihuahuas when full grown - and we only get the very little ones when breeding a very small 3 pound sire to a first time mom to avoid a c-section or to obtain a particular trait we want - and the tiny pups are an unintended result
- It prevents our tiny puppies from being resold for a profit by an unscrupulous person - since they are worth so much more on the market - and assures us that the person we sell them to will be the person they will remain with forever

Shipping Your Puppy
If you do not live near to us in California, we do ship our chihuahuas worldwide. Usually via Delta, Continental, Alaska or United Airlines. We choose the airline, the route and the times, to keep the puppy as un-stressed as possible. Also, we go with airlines who have proven to keep our puppies safe. So far we've never suffered worse than a cold or a flea during shipping.
Shipping usually costs $250 within the continental US and $275 - $300 to other countries. We ship the puppies with warm pillow beds and in cool weather we supply them with heating pads and blankets. They also have dishes, toys, a chewie and a litter box for their comfort. The crate size is 18 x 19 x 26 which you get to keep for crate training and travel, and will fit your chihuahua its entire life.
Some countries do require puppies be over 6 months old and if the country you live in is one of those we will have to comply with their laws.
All shipping fees are in addition to the price of the chihuahua puppy itself and are paid to us in advance to prevent any problems from arising that could stress the puppy out. So both the puppy and shipping must be paid fully in advance.
Two puppies can fly in the same crate for one charge, so you may want to consider getting two puppies or get together with a friend who lives near you and have both pups shipped together.
If you don't have any other pets, it may also be wise to get two puppies so one doesn't get lonely and you can watch them grow up and play together - plus we offer a $100 discount on the purchase of a second puppy, so you would save over $300 if you wanted to get two puppies at the same time and have them both shipped to you.
Your Puppy's Paperwork
When you pick up your puppy, it will come with a folder containing a shot/worming record, puppy care instructions, Buyer's Guarantee and Agreement, vitamin/supplement sample, puppy food and a tube of Nutrical Supplement for younger pups.
Puppies sold as family pets that are to be neutered are usually not sold with registration, as this is only necessary when showing or breeding a dog. If you are purchasing your puppy for breeding or as a show dog then we will gladly provide you with their AKC or CKC Registration papers and Pedigrees also.
